about

"John strummed this one to Marc and Alex during a night of new song ideas. With a 30-second voice memo, Marc spent the next week listening non-stop in the car. The melody quickly emerged, as did the words “Oh Andrea”. Going with the “first idea, best idea” philosophy, Marc followed this line to tell the timeless story of a growing, unspoken love between two people as it hurdles toward its tipping point like an out-of-control train. Marc then spent another week building up the courage to present the near completed song to his bandmates, unsure how they would react toward such a heart-on-sleeve true love story. But like the good friends they are, the song was embraced immediately. Trying it as a band for the first time, everyone intuitively contributed their own magic with seeming effortlessness and the song as we hear it was finalized."

lyrics

Living in the bar light
Singing after midnight
May as well have been the Centrum
Right beside the men’s room

Looking like an angel
Knowing full and damn well
We’re crossing from the friend line
Lord it’s about damn time

Oh, cross the line
Oh Andrea
Those Boston lights
Oh Andrea

Walking in your white boots
Down Somerville Avenue
Pretending I am all yours
You know I can’t take much more

Undercover holding hands
Maybe it was all a plan
Playing those Italian songs
You know Roselli can’t be wrong

Oh, cross the line
Oh Andrea
Those Boston lights
Oh Andrea

Girl I am changing because of you
And I’d do anything that you want me to

Got you where I want you
Or you got me where you wanted to
Either way is fine with me
I’m exactly where I’m meant to be

Woke me up out of a long sleep
Lit a fire, gave it gasoline
Got me burning like I’d never been
So c’mon let’s do it again

Oh, cross the line
Oh Andrea
Those Boston lights
Oh Andrea
Oh, are you mine?
Oh Andrea
Those Boston nights
Oh Andrea
